Privacy

Christophe Atten, a freelancer based in Luxembourg, is responsible for the personal data used to respond to enquiries, manage newsletter subscriptions and provide his services. For privacy questions or to exercise your data protection rights, email hello@christopheatten.com.

Enquiries and services

When you email me, I receive your email address, your message and the information you choose to include. I use it to respond, discuss your needs and, where agreed, arrange and deliver services. Handling a requested quotation or booking is necessary for steps towards a contract; other correspondence is handled on the basis of my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.

When you submit the enquiry form, your name, email address, message, selected service and language, and any organisation or timing you include are sent through FormSubmit for delivery to hello@christopheatten.com for service enquiries, or book@christopheatten.com for book, toolkit and licensing enquiries. FormSubmit’s documentation states that form submissions are retained in its archive for 30 days. Email correspondence is handled through Google’s email services. The form does not save your entries in browser storage or a separate website database. Please do not include confidential financial information or sensitive personal data in an initial enquiry.

Purchases and newsletters

Digital purchases take place through Gumroad; print orders take place through Amazon. I may receive the order information needed to provide your digital purchase and answer support requests in connection with your contract, and meet legal record-keeping obligations. Buying a product or sending an enquiry does not by itself subscribe you to my newsletter.

Newsletter registration takes place on a separate signup page powered by Kit. I use the details you provide to manage your subscription and send the newsletter with your consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in each newsletter. Kit describes its handling of newsletter subscriber data in its Data Processing Addendum.

Hosting and service providers

This website is hosted through OpenAI Sites and uses Cloudflare security infrastructure. Hosting and security services may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser details, traffic-routing information and request times to deliver and protect the website. This processing supports the legitimate interest in operating and protecting the website. The site’s own code does not include advertising or audience-measurement scripts.

Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. See their privacy information for more details: OpenAI, Kit, Gumroad, Cloudflare, Google and FormSubmit.

Retention

Enquiry correspondence is kept while it is needed to handle the enquiry and any resulting work. Contract, purchase and accounting records may need to be kept longer to meet applicable legal obligations or handle claims. Newsletter subscription data is used while you remain subscribed, with limited records retained where needed to honour an unsubscribe request. You can ask about the information held in your particular case.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your personal data, or object to processing. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent. Email hello@christopheatten.com to make a request.
